A modern shaman
Women’s stories to enlighten and inspire

Episode 02: The Self Worth Dance: How Low Can You Go?

One of our biggest issues is self-worth and not feeling good enough. Kim and Isabella tell
childhood stories of their first experiences with self-esteem and how hard it is to overcome.
Once we are able to no longer live from our old stories, we can finally be free.

Women’s stories have always been near and dear to Isabella. While in Idaho obtaining her master’s degree, she created a one woman show entitled, “Abreaction: A collection of women’s stories”

“The reason I created my thesis around other women’s stories is I was too afraid to tell my own”

After she moved back and began her shamanic path her story became a thing of interest. She was interviewed many times and spoke about her story and how she overcame it all. Her desire to write a book or create a podcast took a back seat toward a newfound path.

Now, after almost 15 years, Isabella is back and ready to share. This show was created out of her desire to enlighten and inspire women with not only her story but others as well.

While visiting her friend Kim, the owner of her favorite restaurant “The Modern Shaman” in downtown Whittier, she was overcome with the desire to do it and do it now!

And so “A Modern Shaman – women’s stories to enlighten and inspire” was born.

Kimberly and Isabella are so excited to share their journey with you all.

Meet Your Hosts

Kimberly Harlan

In 2017, Kimberly & her husband Michael travelled to South America and spent weeks wandering in Peru and Bolivia. They travelled with shaman from the Andean community of indigenous Q’ero people who, as shamans, preserve an ancient magical knowledge and are sacred healers. The Q’eros live in union with nature in every way, and they taught us that food pulled from the earth has healing properties and can be thought of as medicine. As a multi- generational vegan and vegetarian family, we are incredibly honored and excited to apply this concept in our own plant-powered kitchen at Modern Shaman.

Isabella Stoloff

The Orange County Healing Center was created to assist the community in their awakening and understanding of themselves and the world around them. Isabella embarked upon her Shamanic path in 2006 and since that time has grown spiritually. In 2009 she turned her home into the OCHC and has been assisting clients in creating high vibration lives for themselves and their families. Using a variety of ancient healing techniques, Isabella is able to help you let go of the past so you can move forward in your life. Chakra balancing, Soul retrieval, Ancestral healing, along with spiritual mentoring are just a few of her gifts.
