Attitude of Gratitude: Living a Mindful Life

Radio Show : An Attitude of Gratitude-Living a Mindful Life

Hello Tribe,

My latest radio show was a blast. My good friend She-She asked me to be on her International Angels network last week and I agreed. I felt discussing an attitude of gratitude and how to live a mindful life would be a great way to start the New Year. We discussed many tips on how to stay grateful and mindful in the moment. She-She mentioned how being “mindful” is actually being “mindless”. What an interesting concept right? How to be mindless and mindful at the same time? I can break it down like this. As I become more conscious and aware of my life I become more mindful. Then, as I become mindless, I am actually less focused on the negative world around me, my thoughts, my past and then I am truly letting go. I play with these ideas and concepts and learn how not to be attached. Practicing non-attachment is a wonderful way to let go. I breathe in light and breathe out love and trust that the universe has my back.

I cannot express how much fun I had at the end of the show. We did readings and mini healings for those listeners who called in. It was so fun to help people on the spot from all over the nation. There are lots of great tips and a light filled mediation at the end.

Enjoy…

WAKING UP

Waking Up

“WAKING UP” by Shaman Isabella Stoloff
— As seen in GlitterLodge Magazine

For years I slept and allowed mainstream media to feed my soul. It told me what to wear and what to eat and what toys to buy my children. Television gave me a sense of security when my mom was at work and allowed me to zone out as I grew into an adult. The magazines shouted from their stands about movie stars lives and the latest weight loss fad. I worried about what other people thought of me, was afraid to dance in public and felt less than my peers.

I was a giver. I would bend over backwards to help you and focus my attention on the one person who didn’t like me. I was self conscious, unaware and lost. The funny thing is I had no idea that all of these things were a distraction from myself. It never occurred to me that I was escaping from looking within.

As an empath I had no emotional boundaries and spent much of my time worried about how others felt. My mind was constantly full, bouncing from one thought to another. I had no idea where I ended and you began. In relationships I was the pleaser, molding myself to be what you wanted. But in my late 30’s I found myself exhausted and spent. I had hit an emotional wall.

I wasn’t raised with any foundation in religion. My mother felt it best to raise me with knowledge of all the religions, not focusing on any one specific type. At the time this was confusing but now I am grateful for I see the common threads and have a strong spiritual connection.

Feeling the world and what others are going through is a blessing and a curse. The curse is being unsure of whether or not the feeling is yours, and the blessing is being able to see things from many different points of view. But in order to get to this point you must wake up and see who you really are.

When I fully woke up and began to see how I work in the world, I was able to put my life into perspective. I began with journaling. I would write out all that had happened in my life and at times I would burn the writings. This was way before Shamanism came into my life and I learned the power of writing and releasing. I forgave myself and others for the pain caused and learned to turn guilt into gratitude. I worked with my mind, finding ways to reprogram my thinking. And I began to love myself.

Learning a new way to walk in the world can be challenging but it is worth it. You are the most important person. You matter. And what you think of yourself is by far more important than what society says.  Wake up to yourself and release judgments.  Watch your words and thoughts. Become the observer of your life and shift what no longer serves you. All of these techniques will bring you closer to yourself and your spirituality.

If you are a giver, learn to become open to receive. Know that when you receive you are still giving and this is the law of the Universe, to be in the flow.

When I stepped into my calling as a Shaman I had no idea it would evolve in the way it has. But I was open to receive, I was open to myself and I was ready to do the inner work.

If you are just waking up or consider yourself awake and don’t feel fully connected yet, begin empowering yourself. Use positive, loving self-talk along with releasing techniques to clear your energy body. Make peace with your past and see things from a birds eye view. You have power over your life, your truly do.  Find what makes you happy and pay attention to the moment. By learning to stay present you will find an awakened sense of being.

Remember your uniqueness in the world and wake up to your divine sense of self. See your inner light as a beautiful energy and attach that light firmly to the front of your spine. Ground this light into the Earth and know you are loved

Does Your Past Define Who You Are?

(Click above to view video)

Our stories make us who we are, but they do not need to define us. Take the best parts and leave what no longer serves you. No longer blame your parents, instead take responsibility for yourself. No longer give your power away, empower yourself with gratitude. This is your life! Make it the best life possible by shifting your perceptions and trusting in the light of love. Let go of the old story so you can feel the good vibes everyday!

Feeler Healers

If you are like me you are what I call a “feeler healer”. Since we can feel what is going on with our loved ones and the planet, this can affect our mood. Many of us are experiencing this right now. Some great tips are to stay in the moment, enjoy what’s right in front of us and stay grateful. If we stop for a moment and live our life to the fullest we will be less likely to get caught up in the emotion that is running our planet.

Let us learn together how to hold space for our planet. You may ask yourself, what does it mean to hold space? I look at it like a large expansion of our beings to encompass and support that which we are holding space for.

See yourself in a golden bubble and open your heart, think of stability and support, imagine you are surrounded by your guides, and tune into your inner universal wisdom, breath into that space. Then imagine the expansion happening, send your golden light to any place on the planet you feel your support is most needed. This is the way we will learn to connect and co-create together!

Shine Your Light

So many of us are looking for ways to simplify our lives and live from an authentic place. We are seeking ways to connect in a more spiritual way with ourselves and others. But for many this can be challenging. We either don’t understand what it means to be spiritual or to have lost faith.

Light Glowing from Hand

So what does “being more spiritual” really mean? For me it means becoming more in tune with nature and the cycles of the earth, and becoming more conscious in my day-to-day life. It means remembering what it is like to be part of a tribe, a community, and becoming more indigenous. As I stated in my 2012 article, “It is time to return to our roots and create the new indigenous tribes.” For the past 5 years I have been weaving a new life for myself, a life that feels connected and conscious. Coming from where I came from this was not easy.

For the first 31 years of my life I lived in such an unconscious place, I thought that I was doomed. I worked hard at fitting in, trying to be one of the crowd, when all along I felt like a misfit. At that time I didn’t know I was actually a spiritual being looking for ways to connect. I believe this is what is happening with many people today.

Many are looking for ways to connect in an authentic way, yet have no idea how. Becoming more connected can show up in a variety of ways. Looking into the cashier’s eyes when buying groceries or paying for gas, or just saying hello and asking how they are. Another way is to do something kind for a stranger. My mother would always find ways to plant trees and give blankets to the homeless. There are so many ways to become more spiritually connected and live from an authentic place. One way to tune into your spiritual nature is by becoming more aware of not only your thoughts and words but also of what you eat. I used to be a junk-food junkie but in the past 20 years I have worked toward eating healthier foods. Since I cut out foods with chemicals I have found that I have more energy. Recently I started a green cleanse and am amazed at how much more intuitive I am. I have always been very tuned in with my clients but since this green cleanse, my intuition is off the charts. I can really feel the difference in my energy body. What we ingest is vital. Somewhere in our DNA structure there are indigenous cells. These cells are used to healthy foods, foods straight from the land.

Once we clear and clean these cells we can become more dialed in. It is this cellular memory that will assist us in awakening. Once awake our perceptions shift easily and there is no longer a need to stay attached to old ideas. We will begin to look at life with more compassion and understanding, creating more spirituality and authenticity in our daily lives. If you are one who is seeking to become more spiritually evolved, then look deep within. Find out who you are and how you tick. Change things that keep you from living your truth. Trust that you are a divine being with a mission and don’t let others dictate how you should live your life. Trust in your ability to connect and create. From this place you will be able to manifest a rich reality, one where you can feel whole, connected and at peace. It is important to keep a positive outlook on life and journal your progress. See where you are still negative or down on yourself and be kind. Go slowly through this process so you can learn to love and honor yourself. One of our many gifts as humans is the ability to create. We have this beautiful mind from which ideas take root and form. Use your mind and free yourself from old ways of thinking. Blossom and grow into the beautiful being you came here to be. When we become grateful for ourselves, and how we are showing up in the world, things begin to change. It is time to take root in the earth and shine our light for the world to see.
